BEFORE YOU BEGIN
A few things to know.
What you can use today, and what is still being prepared.
Using the Korean vocabulary preview
Which Korean levels can I explore?
Beginner, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Intermediate 3 and Advanced 1 have diagnosis and dictionary previews. Together they contain 13,231 entries. Advanced 2 and Advanced Extension are coming soon.
Do I need an account or a payment?
No. You can browse, save words and take vocabulary diagnosis for free. Sign in to sync your Korean learning records and access your account purchase history.
Does this tell me my TOPIK level?
No. Quick diagnosis suggests a starting collection from sampled words. Full diagnosis offers meaning-only or paired meaning/sentence-use or Korean-word checks for your chosen levels and scope. Sentence items cover one reviewed use per word. Neither diagnosis measures free recall or assigns a proficiency or TOPIK score.
Can I buy or download a Korean Anki deck?
Beginner, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 decks are US$6.99 per level. Each word has a meaning card and a sentence practice card; speech uses your device’s Korean voice, with no recorded audio. USD checkout will open after payment setup is complete. You can select a whole-level deck without diagnosis or choose checked review words from a full diagnosis result. Available dictionary content does not mean a downloadable deck is ready for sale.
Can I pause a diagnosis and return to it?
Yes. Guest progress stays in this browser. Signed-in progress syncs to your account when connected, separately for each learner language, content release and level. Return through Diagnosis results to resume. Unchecked words are never counted as unknown words. Earlier self-assessment results remain separate from the multiple-choice format.
Where are my saved words kept?
Guest words stay in this browser. Signed-in words sync to your account when connected, separately for each language edition, level and content release. My account lets you import guest records explicitly. Clearing browser data can remove unsynced guest words.
Are explanations available in other languages?
English explanations are available in this preview. Other learner languages are planned and will be shown when their translations are ready.
Where does the dictionary text come from?
The text is adapted from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Korean Basic Dictionary. VocabChoice has reviewed and adapted the English wording and meaning groups. The adapted dictionary text is provided under CC BY-SA 2.0 KR.
